Keep a balance

It is during the night that the brain sorts and classifies the memories of the day. The neurons then organize this information during the different phases of so-called REM sleep. By lacking sleep, some of these phases go by the wayside which disturbs the consolidation of your memories and makes your memory worse when you wake up.

Having a good memory also means maintaining it with daily exercises. This can be done by reading a book, remembering the shopping list before going to the supermarket, or trying to keep 10 or 20 phone numbers in mind rather than putting everything in the digital memory of your mobile. Prefer small regular sessions rather than a big weekly training.
